Healthy Chocolate Fudge Pops are a summer treat. True, any other time of year you can just have the pudding, but in the summer, you want something cold and refreshing as well as easily transportable. Kids love to run and play in the sun. They don’t want to stop and eat. So, give them a healthy treat they can take on the go.
Loaded with the Good Stuff
There is nothing like an evening walk with the fam while nibbling on a fudge pop. Even better, these fudge pops are healthy. Loaded with healthy fats, sweetened with pure maple syrup, dairy free, and full of antioxidants. These fudge pops will hit every note. Not just for the kids, but mom and dad too!
So, what is the secret ingredient? Don’t judge it ’till you try it. Avocados. Yep, you heard me. Avocados contain high levels of healthy, beneficial fat. With a pretty neutral taste, they add to the creamy texture of these pops without dominating the flavor. Avocados are nutrient dense and loaded with vitamins and minerals such as vitamins C, E, K, and B6 as well as folate, magnesium, and potassium. They are amazing for your skin, hair, heart as well as keep you full longer. But when you are a kid, you just want a pop that tastes good.

Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1/2 cup dutch process cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup milk of choice (I use almond milk)
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a food processor and process until creamy.
- Fill ice pop molds and freeze overnight or at least 8 hours.
- Technically, this can be eaten as a pudding, but we prefer it as a pop when the weather gets hot.
Chocolate Kisses
Oh how I love thee, let me count thy ways. I guess the best part of these pops, besides the healthy chocolate fudge taste, is the chocolate kisses you get in the process. We like to see who can get the chocolatiest kiss from their fudge pop. Eating a Healthy Chocolate Fudge Pop is just plain fun. Make them for your kiddo’s and feel good about the sweet treats they eat. Plus, it’s so much better to get their nutrition from a whole food source. Why not make a memory in the process?

Popsicle Mold – Just a note on popsicle molds: molds that come with reusable sticks that act as a cover are easier to work with. I have used molds that have covers that you slip popsicle sticks down into and if the stick freezes tilted it is hard to get the cover off. Reusable sticks work great and if you are concerned about dripping, they do have some that have sippers that catch the juice if it melts. There are so many to choose from. Have fun and get creative with popsicles. They are a great way to get probiotics, greens, or extra nutrient boosts into your children in a fun way without all the additives, preservatives, or food dyes.
