Hello favorites! I hope you are all enJOYing this beautiful spring. Filled with new life and inspiration, my mind has been on overload with ideas to bring to you. I find it amazing how just a change in perspective, meeting a new friend, reading a book, watching an inspiring ted talk, or pondering a new quote, can completely change the trajectory of our lives. We are not the same people we were last year, or even yesterday, for that matter. With each new day, we are growing, expanding, and emerging into who we are becoming. I was totally inspired by Dr. Benjamin Hardy’s YouTube Post, The Biggest Obstacle to Realizing Your Dreams. Hope it inspires you too.
Book I Am Reading:
Actually, I am reading several books, but sometimes I just have the urge to quiet my brain and just take in something peaceful and beautiful. While at the grocery store, I stopped in the magazine aisle. In Her Garden caught my eye. Filled with beautiful pictures and stories of women and their ventures, I snatched up a copy, grabbed my cup of cozy, and found a quiet moment just to enJOY something beautiful and encourage my soul. Plus it looks so pretty by my bedside.
Quote I Am Pondering:
“Understand why arguments occur. Arguments are caused by two people racing to occupy the victim position in the relationship.” Gay Hendricks, The Big Leap. I collect words and quotes in my journal. Although I do have more JOYful quotes I could have relayed, to be honest, this is the quote I have been thinking about every day. Chewing it over in my mind has made me more aware of the position of my heart before I speak. Is what I am going to speak coming from a place of Victor or Victim? Ruminating on this quote has caused me to do some deep soul searching, and ask God to help me pull up any weeds that keep me feeling like a victim when Jesus died so that I could be a Victor in everything I say and do. Awareness is key.
Products I Am EnJOYing:
Recently a friend of mine got me hooked on a YouTube blogger named Cambria Joy. She has an amazing health program called the Wellness Method. She talks about body image from a biblical perspective and health, particularly from a macro and micro nutrient perspective. Check her out. She is adorable. Plus, on her Vlog or Instagram posts, I get to see the beautiful California Coast and reminisce about the days of old. Lol. Anyway, she makes all these amazing fresh recipes, and finishes them off with a hot sauce called Cholula Hot Sauce. FYI, it comes in a 2-pack at Costco. This stuff makes everything so yummilicious! Just Say’n.
What We Are Eating:
I have been enJOYing some of the wonderful quick and fresh bowls inspired by Cambria Joy on this episode. My favorites have been her shrimp bowl and the sweet potato and grass-fed beef bowl. Bowls are quick, easy, healthy, and require less fuss all in one bowl. How wonderful it is to surround ourselves with like-minded peeps that bring fresh ideas and inspiration. Check out my own Burrito Bowl made with Black Beans and Cilantro-Lime Rice with Beckamole. This is one of my favorite feel-good comfort foods.
How We Are Playing:
Spring is upon us, and so are the beautiful wild violets. Check out my post on Foraging for Spring Violets with Your Children, and how to capture the happy essence of spring while teaching your children about the violet’s amazing healing properties…right underfoot.
Ways We Can Love:
I don’t know about you, but with so much tension in the world right now, I am finding the best way to relieve the stress and love on my family is through laughter and having fun. After all, a family that plays together, stays together. We just had an amazing Easter weekend. We shared our Easter Celebration with some beautiful friends, and had a good time laughing together. I realize that Easter has passed, but that is not to say that you can’t still do some of the fun activities together (like coloring and hiding eggs, egg toss, egg relays, and of course the egg splat) which bring you close and builds those deep, family connections.
Living Holistically:
What I love about holistic living is how easy it is to have fun in the process. Each day we have beautiful opportunities to learn alongside our children how to live a healthier and more holistic lifestyle that can change the course of generations to follow. Check out my post on Foraging for Spring Violets with Your Children to discover some easy, healthy, and fun ways to incorporate the healing properties of violets into your lifestyle.
That’s it for this Well-Seasoned Sunday. I would love your response, what things you are interested in learning, and what lights you up…lets keep the conversation going!
Remember…
Rebecca
